Thought Bubble 2016!

I'm very excited to be heading up to Leeds tomorrow for the Thought Bubble Festival! This is my second year there - I have half a table and my sister is coming too! I'll be mostly selling copies of my comic, Welcome to Oddleigh, but I'll have some stickers, prints and cards too.

If you are in Leeds this weekend and coming to Thought Bubble, please come and say hello - I'll be in the Royal Armouries Hall, table 56b!

Welcome to Oddleigh

Hello! I haven't been updating here much as my personal stuff energies have recently been focussed on my comic, Welcome to Oddleigh. I've just finished the second story, The Dentist, and I'm aiming to get a third done in time to make a zine to take up with me to Thought Bubble! 

I'll post some of the other non-comic things I've been working on here soon, but until then do please check out Welcome to Oddleigh - Shell and The Dentist.

New home for Oddleigh!

So I've got a new home for Oddleigh - it's a Tumblr made with the Simple Webcomics template, I think it's going to work well!

I've put a link in the tabs at the top of this blog. I hope you'll follow along with Sid and Jessie there!

But I'll keep posting them here for now as well! Having fun colouring them up, I think it's making them easier to read...

Colour caterpillars

I'd really like to start a separate blog for these guys, the comics kind where you have a forward, back, random button, so I can make them more readable and chronological - if anyone has any tips about this I'd be really grateful. I know there's a template you can use on Wordpress, but Wordpress really confuses me, even before I look into adding in other templates... any help would be really appreciated! Thank you!

Rickety has had a name change! The bureaucracy was a nightmare, but finally Mayor Sheep approved the new name - Oddleigh. I just felt like something more obvious was called for!

This was an early episode idea - I'm still thinking about the name of the town as Rickety doesn't quite work... I wanted Weirdsville but that's taken... maybe Oddsville...?!

I've been working on some longer form comic ideas - this one's about a weird town, where strange things happen - Twin Peaks/Eerie, Indiana-style stuff - this was the "pilot" introduction. 

I'm loving working in panels SO MUCH but it is hard!! And very different to working in pages for children's book illustration. 

I've been reading Scott McCloud's books (think I've come rather late to them, and they are very helplful!) and thinking about different compositions etc... anyway, I'm going to keep on going, though I think this idea for a serial still needs a lot of thinking and work.
