Olive in the window

Walking past the wonderful The Lion & the Unicorn children's bookshop in Richmond with my lovely publishers en route to see Bette and Joan at the Richmond Theatre, and what did we spy... Olive in the window! A first sighting of that kind for me.

Olive! There you are!

And next to Alfie - you are very lucky. Don't tell him the secret!

I really enjoyed Bette and Joan - Greta Scacci was really very like Bette Davis, and if you closed your eyes sounded exactly like her. The play was set backstage during the filming of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Although Now, Voyager, is my total favourite. If you haven't seen it, I really think you should! It's the greatest. "Bette" had some super lines in the play, in one part describing herself as having "poached egg eyes". Wouldn't it have been a rather different song with that title?

Hey Sam! Thanks for that, and glad you're still there sometimes - it's one of the nicest bookshops ever.

Yes indeed it is! I'd say pop in and chat, but I'm there about 3 days in a month, so it'll have to be extra ordinary timing : ) are u West London based these days then...?

Yes that would be quite the timing. Yes, I live in Shepherds Bush and work near Westbourne Park. How about you?

Chiswick! Born and bred : ) my studio is in the quiet bit near the river and Chis Park, but I live up by the tubes. Drop me a line if you ever fancy a coffee and some Illustrative chit chat? Email is on my blog. ( I live with a lovely lady btw, so this is not date fishing! thought it best to add that, even though everybody will now see it too. )

Ha ha ha! Just checked my followers stats to see if the possibility that you WERE fishing for a date had enticed anyone to follow for the outcome. But alas no.
Super, that would be nice sometime! I'm always keen for more illustration chit chat! x

Oh man, perhaps I should have left that bit out then... Damn my sensible mind and good manners!

OK then, I'll be in touch at some point... as I don't get enough illustration chit chat quite frankly ; )
