I was rubbish at chemistry, sadly. It was always a fog to me, as much as I tried to get it. This brain and eyes is like Roald Dahl's short story, one of my favourites, I think called William and Mary.
I don't know why this fox is wearing safety goggles to read a textbook, but they look cool and scientific.
I've been drawing some anteaters today - what sweet chaps they are. This guy's having rum and raisin I expect, as it might look a bit like ants in ice cream.
Walking past the wonderful The Lion & the Unicorn children's bookshop in Richmond with my lovely publishers en route to see Bette and Joan at the Richmond Theatre, and what did we spy... Olive in the window! A first sighting of that kind for me.
Olive! There you are!
And next to Alfie - you are very lucky. Don't tell him the secret!
I really enjoyed Bette and Joan - Greta Scacci was really very like Bette Davis, and if you closed your eyes sounded exactly like her. The play was set backstage during the filming of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. Although Now, Voyager, is my total favourite. If you haven't seen it, I really think you should! It's the greatest. "Bette" had some super lines in the play, in one part describing herself as having "poached egg eyes". Wouldn't it have been a rather different song with that title?
